Amazake flavour. Sweet, icy and milky.
Moving on to the Usucha, I was greeted by a small but vibrant plum, adding a delightful sourness to the mix. Sipping the comforting foamy tea was an absolute pleasure. Despite the addition of more water to create a lighter tea, the taste remained uncompromised.
Authentic tea house run by an elderly couple, tucked away in a cozy spot behind Ueda Castle Ruin. No tea ceremony required here, just pure enjoyment of Matcha in its truest form. I opted for the Koicha (Thick Tea) and Usucha (Thin Tea) Set, accompanied by a delightful Gelato (¥1400), and it was a matcha-made-in-heaven experience.
First, I savoured the omogashi, a traditional sweet treat, before diving into the Matcha. The Koicha was an absolute revelation – incredibly smooth, with just the right amount of bitterness and none of that powdery texture. The whisking technique employed by the tea house was truly remarkable.

If you're a Matcha fan, a visit to this tea house is a must.
