👍: the sauce which goes really well with the rice. Not too salty too! The pork portion is just nice for an entire bowl of rice. And it’s soft and tender and apparently it’s a family passed down recipe. 👎: the scallion didnt really blend into the taste. #burpple #pigstrotter
Been a huge fan when they were at the checkpoint and now that they've moved, im super glad the taste hasn't changed! $3 for this huge plate!
From Hua Li Carrot Cake at the new Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre — wasn't very quite impressed with the stalls that we tried although we were seemingly trying all the wrong ones.
The White Carrot Cake may seem a tad pedestrian but its definitely decent enough for Woodlands folks, though I wouldn't probably make a special trip down to the food centre for this but have it alongside other dishes if I were to come back again. It's pretty old-school; the egg comes with a certain hint of smokiness, while the radish cake comes pretty soft. Not the crispy sort that I would prefer, but more towards the sort that resembles a nicely done Chinese-style omelette. Did notice that most patrons ended up ordering the black variant; probably that would have fared much better than the white carrot cake that we have had.
Black versions carrot cake - Each small piece of rice cake is soft, moist, slightly charred, and gives off a lovely wok hei. They are coated with dark, caramelised sweet sauce —intense, yet not too sweet.

Surprisingly good find at Hua Li Fried Carrot Cake in Woodlands Centre Road Food Centre! Soft, springy cubes of carrot cake that is fried with a little wok hei with "chai po" pieces scattered around for a savoury bite. Not to mention it comes well covered with egg and the chili though not potent gives it a good amount of heat to tickle the tastebuds. If only the egg comes a little more crisp it would really be almost perfect. Certainly worth a try if you live in Woodlands!
