They definitely stand out in a hawker setting as a coffee stall serving a mix of traditional and specialty coffee. As it's my first time, I tried the hot Latte that i felt was light to medium bodied. Worth it? Definitely in terms of coffee taste and at a wallet-friendly price.

Perhaps one place that has been repeated on our feed way too much, especially considering how we had been following them since the establishment of their very first location at Tekka Centre during those days when the office was still at Rochor — since then, we had been to every outlet that they had opened thus far. From their second outlet at Bedok, to their third in Hong Lim Food Centre, these folks had since opened their fourth location — this time at Tanjong Pagar Plaza Food Centre. These folks had taken over the former premises of a stall that used to serve soya bean beverages and sugar cane juice named Sweet Heart, and they are still as recognisable as they had been; for those that have been following the brand since their early beginnings, Generation Coffee Roasters have very much stuck to the same dark blue background for its signboard all these while — their signage at the Tanjong Pagar Plaza Food Centre following the same format since the opening of their Bedok outlet where the name of the establishment occupies the left of the signboard. Offering the same beverages that they have been doing since their Tekka Centre days, the menu is sectioned into categories such as Traditional Coffee, Traditional Tea, Specialty Coffee and Others (which includes Thai Milk Tea, Matcha Latte, drinking chocolate and Babyccino). Interestingly, their Tanjong Pagar outlet does serve their dine-in beverages in porcelain cups just like their Tekka and Bedok locations.

We have been very much stuck to the Kopi at Generation Coffee Roasters when we had first tried it at their Tekka Centre location; an item that probably does not need much introduction for those whom have been following us for quite a while. What stands out about the Kopi at Generation Coffee Roasters is how it is being brewed using their very own blend of beans that they roast themselves — dubbed the Pioneer Blend, the blend features a mix of Vietnamese Robusta beans as well as Brazilian Arabica beans which they describe to “replicate the aromatic and robust flavours” of their traditional Kopi. One thing that has been notable about Generation Coffee Roasters is how their traditional Kopi is brewed using the espresso machine — whilst being a brewing method that is a little more common these days as compared to when Generation Coffee Roasters had first started out, this ensures that the Kopi is comes a little smoother with crema when compared against the traditionally-brewed Kopi. Always liked how Generation Coffee Roasters’ Kopi is pretty robust as promised; the kick of caffeine likely stemming from that of the Vietnamese Robusta beans but rounds off really well with a nutty and roasty finish from the Brazilian Arabica beans. Best to be had at the default level of sweetness, considering how condensed milk always works well with Vietnamese coffee anyway. Super glad to have them around at both Hong Lim and Tanjong Pagar now; definitely makes it easier for us to get our Generation Coffee Roasters fix whichever direction we decide to head to. As usual, taking the opportunity to congratulate their team on the opening of their new location, and wishing them all the best in what is to come!
