Though my main purpose for travelling a long journey here was for the Matcha Hard Latte (swipe to view), I decided to check out the other cakes / pastries here so as to make my trip more fulfilling ๐
๐คญ. Wanted to try the Earl grey cake initially but it was sold out when I arrived ~6pm+ (was kind of lost and took ~1hr to travel to here from myeongdong)! Hence I settled for the Ispahan as featured here, which come in a gorgeous pink hue with a shape that reminds me of a gigantic Hersheyโs kisses chocolate! ๐ With an interior of yogurt mousse, raspberry jelly and cream, this Hershey kisses-alike cake lies on a base of almond sable that added a pleasant crisp mouthfeel to the smooth, creamy fillings. On the downside, the raspberry cream and raspberry jelly was a tad too sweet for my liking, not as tangy and sour as I had expected, and the same applies to the yogurt mousse as well. Despite that, being one with a sweet tooth, I still enjoyed the cake, though no something I would crave or go for on a regular basis. On the other hand, the Matcha Hard Latte comes in a unique presentation of matcha iced latte along with a matcha popsicle stick topped with torched marshmallow. Visuals on point, but the matcha flavour leans towards the sweet, milky flavour profile thatโs definitely not for the hardcore matchaholics โ ๏ธ That aside, I will still be back to check out their pastries ie crossaints, scones and of course, for the earl grey cake! On a side note, thereโs also weekday brunch of sandwiches from 10am-2pm if you would prefer something savoury here. Loving the ambience and minimalistic interior of this cafe too! ๐
