Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee is located on the 2nd floor of Dunman Food Centre.
Unlike other stalls, their egg noodles are thicker and therefore al dente and more chewy. I also like their wantons are plump and juicy and each plate comes topped with crispy and flavourful pork lard. The char siew though was the disappointing cardboard sort served by most hawker stalls.
The star of this show however is their chilli. It does not simply packs a punch but is literally a fiery kick down the throat for unsuspecting diners. I came without knowing their reputation and was literally crying for a cold sugar cane soon after. It was throat burning spicy and yet so addictive.
If you think that wanton noodles with a fiery chili sauce in the Katong area sounds familiar, Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee is actually helmed by a relative of the owners of Eng's Wanton Noodles which kinda explains why!
