As a fan of sweet and savoury pairings (HAVE YOU EVER TRIED BANANA + BACON), these were right up my alley. The King, or the beef version, had more complexity in flavour and texture given its multitude of elements like a hash brown and crispy cheddar slice. It was more savoury than the chicken version or The Fowl Word, especially with the latter’s side of maple syrup. In fact, the beef version reminded both myself and my friend of satay. I reckon it’s the peanut butter likening to peanut satay sauce. Between the two, I’d say the chicken burger is more palatable to most (and hence the safer option if you’re sceptical), seeing as fried chicken and sweet carbs are already a well-loved combo (chicken and waffles). ⁣

💬:⁣ Only thing I really could not come to terms with was jam with my burger. Best believe that sad paper cup of jam went virtually untouched. ⁣
