Simply named 'Taiwanese Food', this stall that sits on the same row as Joo Chiat Beef Noodles fries up some of the most scrumptious har jeong kai around. A splendidly crispy batter encases the well seasoned chicken wing, resulting in flavor bombs that burst with savory flavor in your mouth with every bite. The prawn paste is perfectly fragrant, making its presence felt in every bite. When paired up with the sour and surprisingly moreish chili sauce, it hits all of the right notes on your tastebuds and creates a symphony of flavor.
Better yet, these wings are gracefully grease-light, resulting in the crisp batter staying crunchy and appealing right down to the last wing. This is only the second place that has impressed me with their har jeong kai, and I wish that this stall was right next to Smith Street Taps. Because chicken wings this good are just begging to be paired with a good beer.
