Today I wanted to eat a CROISSANT. So I went to a place that sells KWAASONG.

Great lamination all around and I really like that all were pleasantly as well as sufficiently buttery.

For something sweet, look no further than their Egg Tart ($5.50). The egg custard was so soft, silky and sufficiently sweet without being cloying. The base was like a softer, pliable yet decently flakey puff-pastry-crossiant hybrid.

A little more unique, the tart-like base of the Almond Baton ($5.50) was crispier and the caramelised nutty almond crisp was such a yummy touch. Stuffed with what I assume to be almond frangipane or mashed almond paste, the filling was balanced and served as a nice textural contrast.

Moving to the savouries, my family enjoyed the Bacon Emmental Fold ($6.50). Layered with a pretty generous amount of cheese and bacon bits, the Viennoiserie was so aromatic. Studded with white sesame seeds, the well-defined cross-laminated dough was not only pretty to look at but also added that oomph in texture - look at those crunchy strips.

Similarly, the cross-laminated Truffle Taleggio Fold ($6.50) was flakey and fragrant. Although I was hoping for more filling, the centre was definitely airier than the Bacon Emmental Fold in my opinion. The lingering earthy flavour was also heady and moreish.

Slathered with spicy cod roe on the top and between the pastry, the Mentaiko Sausage Baton ($7.50) was a solid two-thumbs up as well.
