Three Point Two Gelato is most famous for their gelato buns, which are basically choux pastries that can hold a single scoop of ice cream. The bun was crusty on the outside and we were pretty surprised to find that the exterior retained it's texture even when holding a scoop of melting ice cream! Pretty interesting innovation in the local desserts scene. 😁
We ordered the bun with a scoop of rose lychee ice cream, which was supposedly a recommended premium flavour at Three Point Two! The scoop was really refreshing although it tasted more of lychee than rose, although we didn't mind since we liked lychee more. Our only complaint was that the scoop melted pretty quickly even in the air-conditioned environment.
Price-wise, we thought it was fairly expensive as the pastry itself cost $4 and we had to pay another $5 for the scoop. It was a little gimmicky in that aspect and we would probably go with their waffles in future, which can hold two or more scoops of ice cream! 😁
