I personally thought that the idea of this sounded great, but it did not come together as well as I’d imagined. The Ah Hua Kelong squid was huge and fresh, and while definitely a good thing, I thought that squid chunks were a tad bit inappropriate for battered squid. On top of the fact that the batter that day felt a bit thick, I would have also preferred it to be more bite-sized, especially as a side, so that the curried and herbaceous notes could be better appreciated with ever bite. However, if you love squid, you could probably still give this a try, as it seems like a pretty acquired experience.
