Thai Tako (water chestnut & coconut milk pudding) used to be one of my favourites but its rarity almost made me forget its very existence! ❤❤❤ Going at $4 for 8 pieces, I was really excited to savour these childhood favourites but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. 😔 While the juicy water chestnut bits did add a nice crunch 👍🏻, the dessert cube was overly sweet & wayyyyy too soft. Definitely should have been firmer - removing the pandan leaf revealed the absolutely vulnerable tako that was reduced to a wobbly flop. The coconut layer wasn’t fragrant enough too. ❌

They redeemed themselves a little with their Candied Tapioca ($3). 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 The thick tapioca pieces had a nice firm bite without being too tough, ‘old’ (with unpleasant strands) nor too soggy from soaking in the sugar syrup. 😋 While I still found it to be too sweet, it fared well when drizzled with some coconut milk which carried a faint aroma & cut the sweetness of the tapioca. 💕
