For a breezy rice bowl brunch with a friend, the new Lushbowl decked out in rattan chairs and clean concrete will be excellent. From their selection of salad, sushi rice and cauliflower rice, jump at the chance for the latter. Steeped in a flavoursome stock before stir-frying, it is not often that it is executed so delicately. Salmon is the star here, sliced fresh and tossed in dressing upon order. You will not regret ordering the Simon Says (RM27) with salmon doused in their truffled ponzu dressing, rich and refreshing at the same time. Also good is the Janey Mama (RM25) that comes dressed in creamy togarashi — it surprises with a spike of heat from Sriracha. All bowls come with this foolproof trio of toppings: edamame, seasoned seaweed and ebiko. Lastly, decide if you want a lusher bowl — the options for crispy Baked Salmon Skin (RM5) and Six Minute Egg (RM5) with soft, golden yolk are worth every penny. This was initially meant to be a smoothie bowl bar, so you can count on the sweet treats to be just as good. The Beso (RM23) sees a tropical twist with pineapple mango in fresh coconut water and baobab (a type of organic superfruit).
Avg price per person: RM25
