Aesthetically pleasing, this Blackforest from Patisserie Platine by Waku Ghin tasted as wonderful as it looked. Sure, the cake itself may not be alcoholic but all the alcohol is in the cherry which seemed to have soaked in the alcoholic flavours (so much it actually burns!) as well as the cylindrical chocolate mousse that sits atop the cake within the chocolate coil. Love the rich and smooth dark chocolate, with the slightly tart but still generally sweet fruit compote. A chocolate wafer lays below, but was so decadently rich that you can only taste the bittersweet chocolate. Very luxurious dessert that exudes class; definitely something I will come back for some day.
