The Betterfield opens TODAY at its new location at The Treasury (100 High Street). Bright and very spacious, it can seat 142 diners, which makes this place worth considering if you are celebrating birthdays or organising gatherings.

Naturally, there are new items added to the menu too, such as the pictured Cheese Curry Fries which we got to try at last night's invited tasting. Its seasoning reminds me of Japanese curry which has a pleasant sweetness mixed with the spicy. Chef Shaun revealed the secret ingredient in his recipe at the end of our meal - it's icing sugar! He told us that even he was surprised by this very shiok outcome when he was experimenting. Some of us felt that the yummy fries didn't need anything else but I thought the accompanying Japanese curry mayo was perfect for it - rounding off the crispy-crunchy, strongly seasoned fries with a lovely voluptuous creaminess.

Warning: This is the kind of dish that if you happen to be distracted for a moment, the plate will be empty when you look back at it. 😳😳😳
