Returned for some beef noodles at Blanco Court Traditional Hainan Beef Noodles one evening to find an expanded menu. As I've been a hardcore "kiam chye" fan since childhood, I decided to try the sliced beef stir-fried with the salted vegetable rice set instead of my usual.
I feel the proportion of the "kiam chye" to beef could be improved as the former was rather overwhelming - the saltiness started to get to me after a a few bites. I ended up picking out the beef and pushing aside more than a third of the "kiam chye". Portion was pretty big though and I liked that it came with a fried egg and a bowl of concentrated beef broth.
Regardless of the less than completely satisfying meal this time, I am still enticed to return for their beef stir-fried with bittergourd and beef stir-fried with kailan next time. Because the food at this air-conditioned eatery that opens late, has always actually been really decent.
