When it was my turn to order after a 25 minute wait, the star item was already sold out. I settled for the Sio Bak aka Roasted Pork with rice ($4 per serving, I topped up $1.50 for extra meat), which was featured on Food King by NOC.

It is above average but not on the top of my list. The skin has a GREAT crunch, but I find it overly salty. The pieces of meat is thick and quite lean as well. There’s no sweet gravy to accompany the dish, which is something I like in my usual meal. But the mustard-tasting sauce at the top of the plate is an interesting addition to this dish, which helps to cut through the saltiness of the pork. The chilli is quite diluted and sweet, which is slightly disappointing as I love 🌢πŸ”₯ I might return to try out the famed Char Siew but will not come back specially for the Sio Bak πŸ‘πŸ» #pork #porkbelly #siobak #roastpork #charsiew #rice #sgfood #sgfoodies #sgfoodporn #sghawker #sgeats #igsg #eatoutsg #whati8today #sgfoodstagram #igfoodie #foodporn #foodie #foodporn #burpple #burpplesg
