If you love it or wish to give it a go, do you know that The Nomads is actually the place to go to? The Nomads serves contemporary Central Asian cuisine with an omakase dining format and diners will embark on a cultural journey across Central Asia with culinary influences from China, India and Southern Europe.
Over at the private dining area of the restaurant, this space can accommodate up to 8 guests, in which you will get a different experience as compared to sitting at the main dining room. Dishes are served communal style and you can have a closed-door, more intimate gathering within the space. To kickstart the meal and toast to good food and company, we were treated to The Nomads Nan ($18) and Flatbread to pair with the Gatherer’s-Hunter’s Butter and a plate of Burratina. Once we have filled our tummies with those excellent bread and spread, the Salat ($18) was served and it comes with grilled pears, seasonal greens and crystallized walnuts with a dressing of cherry vinaigrette and anchovy sauce.
The Central Asian journey continues with a seafood dish of Adjika Squid with Ash before the heavy hitters of Adjika Chicken Skewers, Dry Aged Spice Duck, Nomads’ Plov and the magnificent Margaret River Tomahawk arrived at the table. As with every excellent meal comes to an end, it is best to leave a memory with a sweet ending of Medovik ($14), a traditional dessert of honey cake served with a sour cream ganache, blood orange, rose crystals and yogurt sorbet to freshen the palate.
