Of matcha cream and azuki beans surrounded by a matcha flavoured sponge, this swiss roll has got to be the BEST matcha swiss roll ever among all I’ve tried! πŸ’š So far the best I’ve had in Singapore was the one from @dairyandcream but as a hardcore matchaholic, I love how the characteristic earthy note of matcha flavour is prominent not only in the cream but also in the sponge itself! πŸ’šπŸ’š This was hardly the case for matcha flavoured cakes typically and I am amazed how the matcha flavour was subtle albeit distinct in the sponge itself!✨ Not a fan of azuki beans and hence was glad that the presence in the swiss roll was just a mere oneπŸ˜…. The matcha flavoured cake is soft and fluffy, sandwiched with a generous amount of smooth, luscious matcha cream that comes with a lingering bitter undertone and a pleasant earthy, umami note! Would be great if there’s also some matcha sauce / powder provided as well! πŸ™ˆ My personal advice would be to consume this cake around 5-10 minutes after taking it out from the refrigerator for a softer and more creamy mouthfeel πŸ™‚. Indeed, no regrets purchasing this cake, though the only sad thing was the much-smaller-than-expected sizeπŸ˜… .
