The Jokbal at Manjok Ohyang come with these sides for you to hearty and yummy wraps. Aside from the lettuce leaves, there’s shredded cabbage which comes with a slightly vinegary clear dipping sauce (bottom left), julienned radish kimchi, chives, and a cucumber, whole green chilli, raw garlic cloves with gochujang platter.

We tried different pairings of the wraps with the jokbal and ingredients and I must say my favourite was the addition of raw garlic cloves and chives. That really surprised me as I never liked raw garlic till I visited Korea this trip. The burst of garlicky flavour was amazing, cleared my nasal passages and also enhanced the spices of the jokbal. Can’t decide if I like the shredded cabbage with the sauce, but I’m leaning more towards disliking the sauce although it was quite unique and refreshing at first bite.
