Tried cooking with beef shin instead of the usual oxtail - same price, double the amount! Not the best success admittedly - after cooking the shin in the oven for 1 hr and 45 mins, the meat was still not tender (found out later it requires about 3 hours in the oven for the sinews to break down completely).
