Both were decent though nothing really spectacular.
What stood out for both was the texture of the broth - luscious, creamy, consistent. I would imagine they would be highly comforting in rainy weather.
Taste-wise, the seafood bisque fared better - the seafood flavour was robust and I could taste the sweetness of the crab in it. However, there was a strange fishy after-taste which was rather jarring the first few mouthfuls.
As for the pumpkin, I felt it lacked depth in flavour - there wasn't that 'oomph' that makes pumpkin soup so deeply satisfying. Also, it could do with silvered almonds and a few dollops of cream to lend a little dimension to the flavour. Soup spoon's pumpkin soup wins saybons.
At $5.80 each for the large size, I would rather pay abit more for Soup Spoon and the latter even comes with a side of bread.
In other news, I need to take better photos 😅
