A place I have been meaning to visit; MTR’s famed Masala Dosa ($7) is at the top of my to-eat list after hearing many good things about it. Stuffed with spiced potatoes and laced with ghee, the freshly prepared dosa was yummy. Crisp, fragrant and decently thin, the golden-brown crepe was moreish, not greasy at all and remained crisp throughout the meal. Surprisingly light, the fluffy potato filling held a mild heat (tolerable for me) but was savoury overall and not cloying. The complementary dipping sauces were also refreshing and tied everything together.

I then proceed to embarrass myself with the Masala Tea ($3). As the (pipping hot) herb-infused cup came unsweetened, unbeknownst to me, I had made a face on the first few sips thinking “was it supposed to taste like that???” which prompted the server who was standing a few tables away to signal to me to add the sugar that was available at the table - wonderful.
