Established in June 1983, this stall caters primarily to hungry university students and port workers, the result of which means large and generous portions at affordable wallet-friendly prices, coupled with long operating hours through most of the day and night. The sticky and moist white rice carries a mild fragrance of coconut cream, a touch of grainy earthy floral sweet flavour. The achar / Peranakan pickled salad is crunchy and juicy with bright vegetal sour sweet spice flavour, the deep-fried ikan bilis / anchovies is crisp and crunchy with fishy savoury salty flavour, and the fried chicken egg with runny yolk is wobbly and soft with eggy sweet savoury flavour.

The sotong / squid balls are springy bouncy with savoury sweet flavour, the battered crab stick surimi is tender and crisp with mild sweet savoury briny salty flavour, and the battered chicken wing is tender though not as crisp as I'd hoped yet carrying meaty sweet savoury flavour. Their grainy sambal tumis / stir-fried chili paste is mild with sweet savoury salty spice flavour.
