A durian cake was the objective and all we could find in Tampines Mall was Ke Le’s pop up store at the level 1 food fair. A bite into the generous samples and we knew we were in for a treat; our choice of the charcoal Mao Shan Wang Roll was spectacular with a soft, grainy charcoal roll holding together an unadulterated Mao Shan Wang purée with evident bits of durian flesh. This was arguably one of the better- if not best durian desserts I’ve had in awhile.
Officially the brand Ke Le has been positively etched in my mind; something I would consider getting again if I spot it in Chinatown/ any of their pop ups.
