1. Truffle Yakiniku Don ($14.90)
So with all the hype about tanuki raw, we decided to try out their famed truffle yakiniku don.
It cost $18 on the menu but the lunch special serves this up for just $14.90! There was a generous portion of beef which was tender and juicy, topped with a mouth watering onsen egg above truffle infused brown rice! Such good and affordable food in town is honestly so hard to find. However, we found that it was a tad too salty, it seemed like they accidentally spilled too much soy sauce! Additionally the dish came out cold (room temperature to lukewarm) and we would have also preferred it to be served hot. However we asked the manager if it was supposed to be served at this room temperature (to clarify if our food had just been accidentally served cold) and he confirmed that it was intentional. It beats us why they choose to do so, but to each their own. Overall, still a value for money meal in town and it will definitely satisfy your beef and truffle craving!
