Old Chang Kee always never fail to come up with new flavours once in awhile to add to their already popular collection of puff pastries. The latest addition is the Kaya Butter Puff.
.
Bear was quite excited to try this as she is fond of any food that can store delicious Kaya in it. The Kaya Butter Puff is sold at 1 for $1.40 and 2 for $2.50.
.
The unassuming Kaya Butter Puff tasted very light and had a strong buttery taste to it. Also, it was much more crumbly and flakier as compared to their popular curry puff counterparts.
.
The Pandan Kaya filling was to our liking as it had a thick consistency to it and was not too sweet.
.
For $1.40 per puff, we thought that the puff could have been bigger with more filling as we only bit into the kaya after three bites. This would probably be a “try-once-only” kind of a snack for novelty sake and eventually patrons would probably still stick with the good old Old Chang Kee curry puff instead.
