One of the things I love doing when overseas is eating like a local. Hip cafés and stylish restaurants are wonderful but I also really like braving less-than-perfectly-clean hawker centres to try the local fare.
In KL, Imbi Market is one such place I visited. Choices aren't as huge as the space is quite limited but I found the food here very tasty. What impressed me in particular were the Hainan coffee and kaya toast, fried dough sticks (which they also have a unique-to-Malaysia flat, round version made of glutinous rice), the aromatic curry laksa and pork lard-laden wanton mee. Super shiok!
