- Large chunks of pork instead of minced meat
- Sauce is just saltish, not flavourful
- Pork is tough, had some fatty bits which were good
- Braised vegetables was a saving grace as its sour/tangy flavour complemented the otherwise saltish dish.
Overall, very disappointing. May be biased as I've tried the lu rou fan in Taiwan where the fat and the sauce from the braised pork coated every grain of rice thoroughly but all I can say is that this dish is nowhere near the ones you'll find in Taiwan. For starters, would definitely prefer it if they used minced meat instead and a slightly fattier cut of pork.
Price: 8.5/10 (Value-for-money as compared to other places selling it in SG)
Taste: 4/10
Overall: 5/10 (I guess if you have some serious Taiwan food cravings...)
