Hougang 6 Miles Famous Muah Chee (Gourmet Paradise)

Had handmade Chinese-style muah chee yesterday and craving for it today.

今回のツアーの個人的な最大の目的だったのがここのムーチー。

近所でムーチーを食べて気に入って、ムーチーについて調べていると必ず出てくるシンガポールで一番と言われているお店。

創業1952年という歴史ある名店で、お店の名前の通りHougang地区にあったのですが、現在はToa PayohのHDB Hubの地下一階のフードコートの奥にあります。

味はピーナッツと黒ごま味の2種類。

ピーナッツは今や工場で作られたものを使うお店がほとんどの中、ここは皮付きピーナッツと白ごまをローストするところから自家製で作っているので、ピーナッツの香りが他の店とは明らかに違う。
またしても、息子の手が止まらない(笑)

あとびっくりしたのは熱々のお餅を素手でちぎってるんです。
普通はトングとハサミを使う作業。
ハサミで切るのと口当たりが全然違う。

あと、ムーチーのお餅って日本のとはちょっと違うので、作り方を調べてみたら・・・
なるほど、日本のはもち米を蒸して突いて作るのに対して、ムーチーはもち粉を水で溶いて火を入れながら練って作られていたんです。

日本人なら馴染みのある、どこかほっとするお餅のお菓子。
わたしも息子もピーナッツ推し(笑)
息子はすごい勢いでパクパク食べて、口の中がお餅でいっぱいにらなりすぎて「オエっ」てなってたので、小さなお子様は要注意(笑)
でも本当そのくらい美味しい。
他でもいくつか食べたけど、ここのが圧倒的に美味しかったです。
冷めても美味しいし、お持ち帰りもできるけど、やっぱり出来立てが一番！
絶対に出来立ても食べて帰って下さいね。
