The star of the show in the seasonal Umi Tendon ($23++) is the uni of course! Fun fact: did you know that uni is the sea urchin’s gonads (aka sex organs)? 😂 Still, it’s delicious and creamy. My only gripe is that for a $23++ bowl, the portion of uni is pretty small and stingy 😅 All you get is a tiny sliver of uni (and it didn’t taste as fresh and sweet as what you get at better Japanese restaurants). Still, considering the entire bowl of delicious seafood including delicious Hokkaido scallop, Harima oyster, king crab, snow crab, ama-ebi (sweet shrimp), ikura, dory fish, prawn and more, I have no complaints.
