Despite the simple execution, I quite enjoyed how this dish reminded me of a home-cooked one. The steak was served atop a bed of pickled purple cabbage and plain mashed potatoes, with a scattering of some greens.
Onto the meat! The steak was so juicy I could feel oil dribbling through my lips with each bite. However, I would’ve liked a darker and crispier sear. The meat was also a little overdone; I usually prefer a soft reddish core full of myoglobin when ordering at medium gradation, but this one was just pinkish and almost cooked through. But not to be picky, this was good enough to sate my hunger! Furthermore, I liked how the healthier sides cleansed my palate, especially the cabbage with its acerbic effect on my tongue.
