While the Moriwase was supposedly the highlight of the night, it was callously stolen by this Double Salmon Maki. Salmon aburi wrapped with another huge slab of salmon aburi, this was insanely satisfying. With the melt-in-the-mouth texture from interplay of raw and torched sushi plus that smoky char flavour from the torching... I was sure that I was going to hyperventilate from happiness. Personally, I preferred this rendition to the Shiok Maki from Koh Grill and Sushi bar, given the lack of mayonnaise. I thought it helped to bring out the salmon flavour better. Oh, and the addition of deep fried salmon skin onto the maki was pure genius.
This is part of a promotional moriwase set, which comes with an appetizer, sashimi moriwase and choice of maki roll at $78+. This portion is recommended for 2-3 pax.
