Dindigul Talapakatti restaurant near city square mall. Chicken biryani made with the short grained fluffy seerga samba rice which has a flavor different from the basmati rice used in North Indian biryanis. The ground spice mixture the biryani was cooked has a slight peppery taste which doesn’t make it too spicy. Came with two drumsticks so good for sharing although the rice quantity is good for one. Came with a gravy which was pretty good and an onion-curd mixture which I felt was too dry to have with the biryani. Would have preferred a raita. Also ordered egg curry (10SGD) which was really good and wheat parotha (5.5 SGD for a pair) which was a chewy disappointment. None of the dishes felt too greasy or oily. Would come back to try some of the other dishes, although noted that their vegetarian menu doesn’t have a lot of variety.
