Poke bowl is the latest healthy food trend to hit KL which is an awe inspiring bowl of healthy ingredients like brown rice or just plain with rice with condiments and the awe important protein which is the fish! Hearing great things about this magical Poke Bowl that made it a must try thing for a foodie or even an average joe getting on the bandwagon of healthy lifestyle.. This Poke Bowl place called the Paperfish which is actually owned by Dennis Yen.. The shop is actually located just behind the row of Kukus Stim Nasi Lemak and it's quite noticeable with its green paperfish signage.. This place is actually very open and simple with a wall of paperfish crowding around.. The moment you enter the eatery, you will see it has a clean vibe pulsing through and you just need to wake your way through the sea of tables to get to their Poke counter.. In that counter you will be greeted by the paperfish people and the illuminated menu.. The option here are quite straightforward as there is only Salmon & Tuna as the protein but they have 3 different sort of flavourings going on.. Besides that, there is also the superfood option too.. For this visit, I opt for the Umami Shoyu Salmon Poke Bowl(Rm16.90) which consist of a base to choose from either white or brown rice/greens or quinoa (additional rm1.90) with the toppings of greens, seaweed, cherry tomatoes, fish roe, edamame, onions, spring onions and sesame seeds.. I opted for their brown rice which is well cooked and it's quite bland on its own but together with the Shoyu Salmon; it's really quite packed with clean flavours of salty with some crunchy and sweet texture from white onions, the edamame and also seaweed.. It is truly a heaven for any foodie that just love honest and clean flavours or just like to eat clean to balance out all the naughty scrumptious food that we have on other days.. Don't expect any service in this eatery as it's all self service.. Great food but mediocre service..
