My friend introduced me to this chicken rice, and honestly it was worth the price. Where else can you find a proper chicken rice at just 99 baht (around SGD 4) in a restaurant setting? It felt like a hidden gem on the menu, delivering far more than expected for the cost.
Onsen Chicken Rice (THB 99)
Prepared using sous‑vide, the chicken breast was impressively tender and moist, a rarity since breast meat often turns dry. The rice, cooked with chicken fat, was fragrant, fluffy, and carried a depth of flavour that paired beautifully with the meat. The ginger‑scallion sauce added brightness and savoury lift, while the clear soup on the side balanced the richness. (And yes, I even plated it sushi‑style for fun — rate my plating too, haha.)
