Diners can look forward to a handful of novel dishes that are unique to Yi Shi Kitchen, as well as familiar zi char delights.

1) Crispy Crackly Egg (S$8/S$12/S$16): Doused in sweet sauce and topped with crispy golden mushroom, this eye-catching dish is reminiscent of a well-known asian dish, Tauhu Telur. Crispy and fragrant, this is an indulgence for lovers of deep-fried food but probably not so for the health-conscious.

2) Homemade Tofu with Preserved Turnip (S$10/S$15/S$20): Deep-fried homemade soy tofu topped with crispy preserved turnip. The texture and taste of the salty-sweet turnip pieces complement well with the silky tofu. Best eaten with rice as the strong flavours can be overwhelming if eaten on its own.

3) Green Dragon Vegetables with Silver Sprouts (S$10/S$15/S$20): Crunchy and tasty, this is a great dish to up your daily intake of greens.

4) Claypot Hua Diao Chicken (S$12/S$18/S$24): Wok-fried chicken leg with Chinese rice wine and basil in a spicy, sweet and sticky sauce. Very flavourful but I wish that the fragrance of the Chinese rice wine is stronger so as to give it a more distinctive taste.
