Tried this during their opening promo. I was really excited to try their Iberico Bellota as @gochiso_shokudo branded it as “wagyu” of pork.
After a long queue, we finally got seated and I was anticipating the warm, tender and melt-in-the-mouth deep fried pork katsu. However, I was disappointed beyond words!!
To get started, the katsu wasn’t even warm when served. It’s cold. Most importantly, the meat was really tough and nowhere near “melt-in-your-mouth texture” as branded. It’s was rather tough to chew.
On the upside, the katsu was of suitable thickness and the exterior were crisp and goes well with the standard tonkatsu sauce and ground sesame powder.
