We love desserts! And especially it is made with soy bean. When we got to know that the Li Damansara Jaya offers a Malaysian version of a panna cotta known as Soy Milk Panna cotta (RM10) that is inspired by the local favourites; tau foo fah! We immediately ordered it without an ounce of hesitation! It doesn’t take very long to wait for this Malaysian panna cotta to arrive for us to savour it. In terms of appearance wise, it’s presentation does looks somewhat similar to a Japanese Ikura chawanmushi just that it is a the cold version of it.. Portion wise is quite small and just suitable for 1 person to enjoy it but it does have a vibrant color that pops from the pineapple jam and it was being surrounded with a pool of sweet and sugary sauce of Gula Melaka and transparent pearls of Sago! The moment we dived in the bowl of it and we can felt it through our spoons on how delicate, silky smooth yet firm the texture of their panna cotta! It was abit jiggly but the moment we had it, it was truly electrifying as the texture was really smooth and silky and it immediately sprang to us that they achieved the consistency of a Tau foo fah with the soy milk panna cotta and the sweetness of the Gula Melaka helps the panna cotta to have a slight dash of palm tree sweetness to it without being too overly sweet or over powering and the pineapple jam was really smooth, with a hint of natural sweetness from the pineapples alongside the sourish acidity from the pineapple fruit itself! It was really a heavenly combination of bubbly and silky smooth texture together with the sweet and sourish taste from the toppings! Loved it!
