Jot this German delicatessen down if you ever need a quick lunch around Cityhall or have some spare time to people-watch over a cuppa. Dine alfresco (it's still air-conditioned) and order the Lunch / Dinner Set ($15) that comes with a sandwich — get the savoury Sourdough Bread with Pastrami — and a drink. Otherwise, the buttery, eggy Onion Quiche ($6) is also stellar.

From Berthold Delikatssen, a new deli situated at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel where now-defunct Naughty Nuri’s was formerly located. While the sandwiches are pretty decent, it is the Onion Quiche that was delicious — buttery pastry around the side, the sweetness of the caramalised onions is the main star of the show; all that above an eggy layer at the bottom. A very simple dish that is easy to understand and appreciate, and hits the spot for Onion lovers.
