Cheesy Dakgalbi

šŸ˜šŸ„° Spicy marinated chicken pieces on a generous bed of mozzerella cheese. The combination of spicy chicken and hot melted cheese is so addictive and tastes exactly like love on a plate - hot, fiery and gooey with a cheese pull so long that it tugs your heart strings šŸ¤¤

Roasted chicken thigh in a soy dakgalbi glaze, on top of rice mixed with seaweed, flying fish roe and sesame oil. This Soy Dakgalbi was a surprising nice change from the rest of the dishes we had. The savoury sweet chunks of chicken thighs were succulent and I liked the pops of roe in the mouthfuls of rice. Itā€™s definitely more tame compared to those we had like the Jjimdak, Cheesy Dakgalbi and Curry Fried Chicken, but I appreciated the simplicity of flavors which was actually quite addictive. It is however, kinda pricey for what you get!

Tender and juicy chicken thigh meat, together with topokko (Korean rice cake), are tossed in a party of bbq sauce and gochujang (Korean red pepper paste). End result is a plate of flavourful and spicy goodness (youā€™ve been warned; pair this with one of their delightful drinks!) For the less-spicy eaters, coat the meat with the gooey melted mozzarella cheese - itā€™ll help balancing the spiciness.

Chir Chirā€™s cheesy dakgalbi is manageably spicy due to the deluge of melted cheese bubbling on the hot plate. That sexy melted cheese was eagerly used by us to cocoon the tender, spicy chicken chunks and the chewy tteokboki (Korean rice cake).

The chicken chunks are more than delicious enough to be devoured on its own, but that thick blanket of cheese just made it so, so much better in the way that only melted cheese can.

Let's get cheesy! Unanimously a hot favorite among the Burpple Tastemakers. It's gonna be hard to resist the temptation as you watch the mozzarella cheese served on this hot plate over an open flame, slowly bubble and melt. Grab a piece of the roasted chicken thigh and topokki marinated in a fusion of sweet spicy BBQ sauce and Korean Gochujang, and twirl them around with the melted cheese. In fact, the cheese helps to suppress the spiciness. Heavenly as the different flavors burst in your mouth.

Thank you @chirchirsg and @burpple for the hosting and invite!

The mixed rice with seaweed flakes, flying fish roe and sesame oil lines the hotplate, with the roast chicken thigh pieces glazed in barbecue and soy sauce marinate resting on top - not for long though >D This dish is definitely safe enough for people who canā€™t handle spicy, but for those who need that fiery jolt, thereā€™s a spicy version using barbecue sauce and gochujang! That, however, goes better with the Cheesy Dakgalbi ($32.90) with the ring of mozzarella to smother the heat when it starts to burn your palate.

First up, they are introducing smaller portions! Imagined how you can barely finish a single portion among 2 ppl, now they have 6 pieces per portions, meaning you can try more flavours! šŸ˜‹

1. Cheesy Dakgalbi ($32.90)- All cheese lovers unite! This is definitely for your inner cheese lover. Roasted chicken & tteok marinated in a special BBQ + gochujang sauce. Pick up a little (or a lot) of that stringy cheesy mozzarella along the way to instantly bring you to cheese heaven.
.
šŸ“
2. Curry Fried Chicken ($28.90)- crunchy fried chicken tossed w curry powder and almond silver. Comes with a sweet and savoury Japanese curry sauce. You know how what youā€™re eating is already tasty and savoury but you still dip in the sauce to up the flavour (and make it more sinful) šŸ˜›
.

3. Pineapple smoothie - a bit like a mocktail pina colada. Flavours of pineapple and coconut. Very refreshing. Great to wash down the fried chicken! .

Roasted chicken thigh , spicy dakgalbi sauce, topokki and mozzarella! Pretty spicy so if you canā€™t take spicy food, you may want to prep some water! šŸ˜‚ sinfully good!

Had a sneak peak of @chirchirsgā€™s new menu which is launching today. Happy to report I loved everything, but if I reaaaaaally had to pick a favourite, itā€™ll definitely be this Cheesy Dakgalbi, because cheese!

Served in a hotplate, with a good sweet-savoury blend of BBQ sauce with gochujang, giving quite a fiery kick for someone with lower spicy-tolerance - but itā€™s absolutely addictive. Eat it however you like - as it is or with the decadent oozy mozzarella. Comes with toppoki that I actually liked with a bit of a caramelisation from leaving it a little longer. A comforting option good for sharing.

Thank you @chirchirsg and @sixthsensepr for having us, and #burpple for the invite! šŸ˜‹
