Start your day early by following the locals to ICC Pudu, an indoor wet market that's home to many food vendors serving a variety of local grub. The market is on the basement level, but you'll want to head upstairs to the ground floor for the food – don't be alarmed by the astounding selection! Upon entering, you'll spot Ah Weng Koh's Signature Hainan Tea. Note that you are only allowed to order their drinks if you sit within their premises. Have a smooth and foamy cup of Signature Hainan Tea (RM2.50), which pairs perfectly with the Signature Kaya Butter Toast (RM2.50). Once you're done, look out for Ann's Nasi Lemak for an interesting take on the national dish – Pork Skin Nasi Lemak (RM9.50). For something to munch along the way, grab an order of Sisters Crispy Popiah (RM3).

The simplest breakfast that beats them all. Crispy toast and most fragrant and smooth tea (or coffee I can’t tell) 😋

Came here because we were told this place is famous for their Hainan tea and toast! The toast was crispy and came with generous servings of kaya and butter but I thought the tea wasn’t that impressive. I would come back for the toast but I would have my tea somewhere else instead.

Located at ICC Pudu, this would be my get to everyday morning caffeine fix (if I could). This tea is so Gao that it almost taste like coffee. It’s smooth and easy to drink without being too sweet 😋😋

Always unashamed to ask for extra thick curry and don’t forget the curry pork skin 😋

No longer set in the outdoors for a rustic breakfast spot, Ah Weng Koh in the new ICC Pudu still deserves a visit for its tasty offerings. Take mum here for breakfast after a market run. It's essential you snag a seat upon arrival lest they all get snapped up in seconds. Helpers marked by tin cans in their hands and towels around their waist will take your order. The Hainan Tea (RM2.40) is a must-have of smooth, aromatic milk tea beneath bubbly foam. On bites, get the Signature Kaya Butter Toast (RM2.40) if you like your bread crisp or the Kaya Margarine Bun (RM2.40) if you prefer it soft and pillowy. Both feature lavish spreads of homemade kaya, boosted by butter and margarine. Order also the Soft Boiled Eggs (RM2.20), served in a do-it-yourself tin of hot water. Pro tip: Remove eggs after 5 minutes for the perfectly wobbly texture. The Hainanese family running the business are known to be prickly when it gets busy, so get your orders sorted before they come to you.
