Did you know that food photography can improve your health?! When your food is naturally colorful and photogenic, it is likely that what you’re eating is packed with a variety of nutrients. So stoked to finally try the Rainbow bowl from TBB, with a base of fragrant brown & wild rice, topped with spicy pineapple kimchi, radish sprouts, purple potato crisps and an organic poached egg. They even slipped in some red shiso leaves that added a touch of herb flavors to the bowl. An explosion of aromas in my mouth and a super satisfying lunch.

Brown and wild rice with poached organic NZ egg, spicy pineapple kimchi, purple potato crisps, radish sprouts, red shiso and salsa verde. I really liked the combination. It was sweet, sour and slightly spicy.

Topped up S$4 for the salmon, yummy! Not the cheapest bowl of rice, but I enjoyed everything about it - the crunch, the mixed textures, the assorted flavours, the onsen egg, even that extra kick from the spicy pineapple kimchi! Love how the wooden bowl and utensils🍴add to the overall appeal of this colourful dish too πŸ‘πŸ»

($16) - Vegetarian 🀀

Brown and wild rice bowl, poached NZ organic egg, spicy pineapple kimchi, purple potato crisp, mixed sprouts, salsa verde.
You can choose to add on $4 for Salmon or $3 for Chicken!
I prefer the Salmon!πŸ˜‰

Rainbow 🌈 Rice 🍚 Bowl (S$16++)
Brown & wild rice bowl, poached NZ organic egg 🍳, spicy 🌢 pineapple 🍍, purple potato πŸ₯” crisps, mixed sprouts, & salsa verde
Topup (S$3++) for chicken πŸ“
Available at @TiongBahruBakery in @RafflesCitySG
Wild Rice, also known as water oat, is a type of whole grain ( Approved and endorsed by the Whole Grains Council, May 2004). It was more difficult to digest than the usual white rice and takes more chewing. I chewed till my jaw was tired, but it tasted quite flavourful. The chicken πŸ“ was cooked in sous vide style, looked pinkish but quite tender.

So if love their pastries then you should try their hot food.
In frame: Rainbow Rice Bowl [$16]
Vegetarian option and one of my favourite dishes there. They use brown and wild rice, eggs that are organic from New Zealand made into your very delicious poached eggs, thus why the yolk is very orange in colour. Spicy pineapple kimchi, purple potato crisps, mixed sprouts and salsa verde.

They do give you an option to add Chicken [$3] or Salmon [$4]. Tried both but i have to say i still prefer Salmon as it gives the dish more taste and flavour compared to chicken. Comfort food for me..

The spread of freshly baked goods on display at Tiong Bahru Bakery's Raffles City outlet clearly indicates where their strengths lie, but their recently launched hot foods menu is just as formidable. There's only one grain bowl on the menu, the Rainbow Rice Bowl ($16), and it is as good as it looks. The brown and wild rice base is topped with tiny cubes of spicy pineapple kimchi, mixed sprouts, salsa verde, a wobbly organic egg and purple potato crisps. You can stop there and keep it as a vegetarian option, or follow the staff's recommendation and add on the extra portion of cured Salmon ($4) which goes well with every ingredient in the bowl. The space itself is great for brunch with the girlfriends, or simply to have a treat-yourself-lunch with good vibes as you bask under the natural sunlight pouring in!
Avg Price: $20 per person

Spotted this on Instagram and for once, I'm not fooled by its appearance β€” flavours were spot on!! It's originally a vegetarian dish (there are quite a few on the menu), but you have the option to add on a protein. Following the staff's recommendation, I opted for the cured Salmon ($4) β€” so tasty! Love the kimchi pineapples, a little spicy but nothing too crazy that I can't handle.

Only gripe, I think...the kitchen forgot about my salsa verde. I only realized after I saw the other photos on Burpple. Wehhhh :(((

Vegan with the optional add-on of chicken ($3) or salmon ($4). The name of the bowl brightens one up already. Love those purple potato crisps seriously! 😍
