Yentafo Kruengsonge Soup ($8.50)
Feel like eating something heathlier yet not as bland as traditional ytf? Then this may be an option! @yentafokruengsonge serves up thai style "yentafo" (we know it as yong tau fu ๐) served in their pink sauce soup. The soup definitely took getting used to as I was rather taken aback by the initial smell but it subsequently grows on you and I actually finished up the semi sweet and savoury soup๐! It was also a tad spicy but nothing an average Singaporean can't handle.
What's interesting in the 9 treasures is the replacement of pig's blood with chin chow ๐ฑ, yes, chin chow in ytf!!! Surprisingly, the warm piece of chin chow actually went well with the spicy soup, lending some respite to the heat from the soup! The other ytf items were nothing unusual but definitely tasted fresh!
What's Thai food without tom yum? ๐ถ A great balance of spiciness & sourness in their broth that is rendered by simmering pork bone, radish & coriander root w careful seasoning & no artificial flavorings. Topped w a generous pile of ingredients, it's definitely not the conventional tom yum noodles we're used to having locally!
