We were brought to this neighbourhood locale for hot chocolate as recommended by the one and only Jayne Tan after lunch and damn, this really knocked me off my feet! Thick, rich and creamy hot chocolate topped with hazelnuts and dusting of cocoa… just perfect hot chocolate paired with good quality cacao. Not for sharing!!
The valrhona hot chocolate was rich in flavour yet light in texture, with the hazelnut cream espuma forming the cloud-like layer. The secret of the drink lies in the 1:1 ratio of cream to milk and the combination of valrhona and hazelnut makes the drink taste like drinking hot ferrero rocher — indeed a familiar comfort 'dessert' for me. I kept drinking from different spots of the cup's rim so that I could get the hazelnut when I sipped the hot chocolate 🙈 Can't wait to plan my next visit here!

From the rim studded with chopped almonds and cloud-like hazelnut cream espuma to the occasional surprise bites of crunchy chocolate pearls and much-needed touch of sea salt flakes, this is quite possibly the best cup of hot cocoa (more like hot cocWHOA😱) I’ve ever had. ❤️ Yes, it’s rich but somehow not too thick either; I had mine hot and savoured it till the last drop effortlessly. 👅💦
