It is so much better to come here for lunch than to come here for dinner. Much more relaxing experience.

If you drive, be prepared to wait forever for a parking lot during dinner time. Unless you are luckier than the other 99 cars that are also waiting for a lot. And after that, you still gotta find seats. Challenging if you come in a big group. And after that, your still have to queue for your food.

I ordered the chicken and mutton satay ($0.60 each), plus the ketupat (rice cakes, $0.50 each). I don't think the ketupat is made by them though. They came in plastic wrappers.

The satays are good. Very well-marinated; sweet and savoury. In fact, more sweet than savoury, which is what I like for satay. Chunky pieces of meat and not some minced meat put together. The biggest chunks I had thus far. In Singapore and from other stalls there as well.

Satay sauce is good as well. Looks watery but is not. Sweet, thick, fragrant and not oily!

Love it!

the meat are tough and chewy and the chicken really tasted like it's not from the same stall..😞 the gravy was good though...

Price:
Satay: $8.40
Black & White Carrot Cake: $5
The black one is fried with dark soy sauce which also gives it’s sweetness, whereas the white one is where the carrot cake is fried with beaten eggs to form a crispy crust.

Very blessed to be part of Singapore Annual Food Festival 2016 where we kick start the celebration (15-31 July) with "Hawker Spotlight" at East Coast Lagoon Food Village.
Led by our very own food connoisseur, Mr Moses Lim, we were introduced to 5 really yummy stalls. Pictured here the Fish Head Curry from ζ±ζ–Ήθ™ΉηΎŽι£Ÿ (#01-37) was one of my favourite. Loved the super thick and aromatic curry that gets you hooked from the first sip!
Thank you @visit_singapore and City Gas for the interesting and yummy afternoon!

Part of this year's Singapore Food Festival is Hawker Spotlight which celebrates our hawker heritage by highlighting select hawker centres each year. This year, it's East Coast Lagoon Food Village! Brings back memories of lunching here after a morning cycle with the family. We were given a short tour and introduction by Mr Moses Lim himself to five local favourites, which included curry fish head, char kway teow and satay. Out of the selected stalls, the best had to be the fish head curry as pictured above (Eastern Red Seafood, # 01-37). The curry was spicy and very flavourful, while the fish was fresh and flaky.

Many thanks to Visit Singapore and City Gas for hosting, and Burpple for the invite!
