Chomp chomp has known to be very crowded during meal times. Best is to avoid peak hours. As much as the food is good, not sure if it is worth the wait for seats. Actually had to wait 40mins to eat these bbq seafood.
Verdict: worth travelling to serangoon gardens for it but maybe not the extra waiting time for seats.
Whatβs not to love at Chomp Chomp. Satay, sambal stingray and large glasses of sugarcane juice are always a must.
stingray(1st) and char kway teow(3rd) were not badππΌbut the carrot cake(last) wasnt v good:-( still prefer Newton hawker!

As chomp chomp was famous for their bbq stuff and also stingray, i too jumped onto the bandwagan and ordered myself a grilled stingray. To my surprise the wait was relatively short, i would say around 10mins or so and my grilled stingray was here. The first impression of the stingray was relatively pleasant. The charing of the stringray was perfect, there wasn't any burnt parts. It was very aromatic and i could not wait to dive into it. The fish was really tender and moist, and the reason why i liked it a lot is due to the char kind of taste(not burnt). The fish melted instantly in my mouth and all i wanted to do was to dive into it more! The sause that came with it though, i personally did not like it, as it was very strong and fishy. This grilled stingray has a relatively low spice level, which makes it suitable for kids. I can see myself coming back again to get the stingray, i highly recommend this place.
I have no idea how exactly Hainanese this is, but it is so nice! Unnoticed amongst all the sugar cane towers and sambal stingray, but it will make the perfect end to your boisterous dinner at chomp chomp :D I have never tried it before this too, but I was looking around for something new, and it was really worth the try! Topped with salted veg, peanuts and seaweed, the combined taste.... ππππ It's just really special.
Stingray ranges from $9-$12! Pretty much meat even for a $9 stingray definitely enough for two. Loves for the kangkong that the spiciness is ππ»ππ»ππ» Night suppers w friends here would be the best
serious. (if someone needs company to have this, ask me βπΌ) some places charge exhorbitant prices for a piece of flat fish with hardly any meat on it and/or undercook the fish but definitely not this one! Sambal anything is always good cos Singaporeans love spicy food so much, don't we?? for those who aren't sure why that lime is there. well, it isn't just for show. it adds an extra zaaannnng to enhance the taste of the stingray (or at least in my opinion) @igsg #igsg #singapore #foodpornasia #burpple #setheats #eatoutsg #sgfood #foodsg #sgfoodie #singaporefood #singaporeeats #hawkerfood @sgfoodie #hawkerpedia
