CoCoICHIBANYA (Plaza Singapura)

Visually, coco ichibanya has alot to work on. However taste wise curry was great - rich and full-bodied! The beef shabu slices were soft and tender. My only complain was that the omelette could have been runnier.

I thought my spice tolerance was pretty high, but the level 3 spice became too mouth numbing for me. A bunch of students seated next to me gamely ordered level 5. I wonder how did they fare.

Would definitely return - but perhaps try out a lower level of spice instead!

V day is just a day for merchants to earn from consumers. 😂 I dunno why I sudden crave for curry rice and we decided to have last minute dinner here. I had the normal level curry while WB had level 5. 😱 We concluded that the tonkatsu from Ma Masion is far better and WB told me he's disappointed with the Tonkatsu. Haha he's getting pickier nowadays.

Breaded pork cutlet fried to a crispy perfection while keeping the inside juicy. I decided to go easy on the spiciness level for the curry so I started with level 3 and there was indeed a nice kick. Loved the omelette as it was “medium-rare” but I would have loved it to be thicker. Perks of this place: you get to add more rice/curry (for a fee of course) but I was full just after one plate. There are pickles on the side - a little sweet, as compared to the one at Monster Curry, which I very much prefer.

Haven’t been here in a long time and it was as comforting as I remembered! Not the best curry around but pretty value for money. Our freshly fried pork cutlets were sufficiently thick and not at all dry, while the curry had a good heat and wasn’t too sweet. Also had a dollar off for opting less rice (you can top up to get a bigger portion too)! Only gripe was that they missed out my top up of cheese ($2) which they gave me in a separate bowl - wasn’t as shiok and oozy! ☹️
