They're pretty hard to find, and if you do you'd probably see the tiny communal fully packed with a snaking line for takeaways. With just 2 tables for dine-ins, Brown Bagels has earned themselves a steady, loyal CBD crowd with their handrolled bagels and Korean-inspired bagelwiches. The menu's short and sweet, with simple creations that complement the star of the show, their bagels. I really liked The Spicy Chicken (AUD9.90), Korean Beef (AUD9.90), and Salami (AUD9.90). Their Strawberry Nutella Hazelnut (AUD7.50) is fantastic for those who fancy something a little sweet.
If you're a traditional schmear on bagel kinda person, you might be happy to know that the chive cream cheese is pretty well done here. The flavour of chive was apparent, but not overpowering, and it went well with the toasted bagel.
I like avocados and I love salmon, so naturally I gravitated towards this unique combination. Wouldn't say that the combination worked, but I did enjoy eating them separately on my bagel halves. A crack of pepper and some lemon juice would really lift the flavours too, I think!
Bagelwise, they were much softer than the usual NY style which I prefer for the chew, and these tasted more like a softer Asian version (which my mother liked). So it's all down to personal preference!
Service was really friendly. :)
