This fully air-conditioned mookata restaurant on the eighth floor of Orchard Central is perfect for your next get-together session with friends you haven't met in a while! Prices start from $18.80 for lunch and $28.80 for dinner with free flow of drinks. Choose one of four soup bases — bonito, chicken, tom yum or salted egg yolk (more of a dip than a soup base), before loading up your plate with king crabs, bamboo clams and slipper lobsters. The unagi, beef cubes and scallops are great for grilling and dipping into their housemade sauces like the lip-smackingly good green seafood sauce. If it's your first time handling slipper lobsters, get the friendly Talay Kata staff to guide you in cracking open the shell, so you don't waste time trying to cook the meat with the shell still on (...like we did). The stellar spread of meats and seafood is more than sufficient to feed everyone; but if not, there's always the DIY Som Tum and shaved ice dessert stations to turn to! Pro tip: From Mondays to Thursdays, students and National Servicemen enjoy 15 percent off their bill when they flash their student or NS card!

Just across the road from Beauty World MRT Station is this homey Korean restaurant owned and run by Koreans — an indication that the food here is as authentic as it gets. If that isn't enough to convince you, here's another fact — the restaurant is usually packed with twice as many Korean patrons than Singaporeans so expect to wait around 20 minutes for a table during peak hours. When your body is in need of a soothing pot of spicy stew, be sure to order the Sundubu Jjigae ($10 for seafood) — a bubbling cauldron for one consisting of smooth tofu, vegetables and finished with a raw egg cracked in the middle, served with a side of rice. Their side dishes ('banchan' in Korean) like sausages, kimchi and omelette, are stellar. These are refillable till you're happily stuffed!

You may think of Island Creamery as that spot where students go to enjoy quality ice cream after school, but it is also a terrific spot to order a delightful ice cream cake from. The well-loved Mud Pie ($45 for whole cake, $5.90 a slice) features a trio of ReversO (chocolate), Cookies'n Cream and Burnt Caramel ice cream encased in a thin Oreo shell. Every bite of the oreo base, crumbs and ice cream somehow never gets too sweet, and won't fail to make you feel like a kid again. One Mud Pie can easily feed 10 to 12, plus if you order online, you can request the number of slices you'd like the cake to be cut in, making it easier to serve! This is one treat that's perfect for all ages.

Here's the perfect celebration pie for grandma, or anybody with an old soul. The Banana Pie ($25 a pie, $2.50 a slice) from this old-school bakery in Katong Shopping Centre is a signature you should not miss. Expect a buttery, crumbly crust encasing a moist filling that is generous on sliced fresh bananas (they use both 'ang ba cheo' and 'pang cheo' bananas). A layer of dessicated coconut and a sprinkling of crushed nuts add a nice crunch to it all. This comforting pie is just sweet enough and not at all cloying — it is no wonder this is a favourite among long-time regulars! They often sell out by mid-afternoon, sometimes earlier, so plan wisely! Pro tip: Pick up a box of their rich Chocolate Tarts (five for $4.50, another best seller) while you're there.
*Place your order one day in advance, but take note that the shop is closed on Sundays

3 x perfectly-done juicy 100% Black Angus beef patties, crispy bacon, aged cheddar, caramelised onions, guacamole, lettuce and fresh tomato in between toasted mini buns.
3 x the bliss. 😋😋😋
And let's not forget the fries.

Newest addition to EatAtSeven. KOHAKI Tendon ($15 for rice bowl only or $19.50 for set with udon) comes in both original and spicy sauce. Lightly coated ingredients are heaped onto bowl of Japanese rice before they drizzle the sauce over. Tempura consist of prawns, chicken fillet, corn, long bean, pumpkin, mushroom, squid and crab stick. Last 2 items might not be common in Tendon but it was equally palatable!

Sadly there wasn't any onsen egg inside so we both voted for Ginza Tendon. But we are happy to have one more place where we can go for Tempura Tendon. (P.S: best part is we don't smell like walking tempura and can continue shopping)

[Tuck Kee (Ipoh) Sah Hor Fun, lvl 2 of Hong Lim Food Centre] According to my colleague there's always a long queue so it was my lucky day that it wasn't. And I think I get why people queue for this. For $8, you get silky smooth horfun, with quite a decent portion of prawns and sweet crayfish (flesh came off easily and wasn't mushy), both of which were fresh. Gravy is a little on the peppery but bland side, just mix in the chilli and you're good to go!

This large portion of pasta was cooked a tad softer than al dente with a generous splash of seafood-y stock. Tossed together in it was an ample amount of fresh crabmeat, roasted garlic, crunchy grilled leeks and soft-cooked whole baby tomatoes. I am not shy to admit I was grunting in pleasure while eating.

An old favorite Korean food of mine at Concorde Hotel, just perfect to kill the hunger pangs without hurting your pockets in the Orchard area! All these for just under $25 — kimchi soup (with glass noodles instead of rice), steamed Saba fish, ramyun and deep fried dumplings. I would recommend having the kimchi soup without the glass noodles though, as they have generously added too much of it and it diluted the soup a little. The Saba fish here are the best — I don't usually choose to have fish for Korean, but the Saba here are seriously huge and fat! Deep fried dumplings are smaller in size with some minced meat and glass noodles. It has the crunchy dumpling skin edges that makes it really addictive!

I was craving with this 'Singapore Style Hawker Ramen'. Queue was long and my stomach was keep calling but i wasn't care because no matter what my mind only thought of the ramen, the sauce, and the potato prawn roll
