Humble shop within Lau Pa Sat with local flavours inspired ice cream. Got 2 single scoop and it was creamy and yummy! Portion for single scoop is relative bigger than other places. Will definitely return to try other flavours if I am in the area. They have interesting flavoured cones too (e.g. milo, bandung, pandan) Used burpple beyond for 1-4-1 single scoop! $4.80 in total for two scoops.
Got the Hojicha & Lemon Curd w Biscoff cone with burpple beyond ($6). Ice cream was really creamy and flavours were pronounced. There are many more unique favours and will definitely be back for more!
Small humble ice cream shop within Elias Mall. Limited flavours but would say that flavours are relatively special and with local flavours too (e.g. apple cinnamon, earl grey lavender, kopi peng, yuzu, MSW etc). $3.80 for classic and $4.80 for premium flavours. Taste wise it's on the milder side, and the more you eat the more the taste becomes less pronounced.
A hearty and VERY eggy bowl of oyakodon. Comes with 5 or 6 different types of eggs and chicken. Might be too eggy for some people but overall still a pretty good dish! Plus points for the presentation too ๐๐ป
Tried this jap place after reading good reviews! Ordered the highly rated okonomiyaki ($17.90++). Quite tasty but recommend to share it with 2-3 pax as it is pretty filling. Love the charred and crispy bits at the bottom of the pancake.
Got the drunken lala beehoon/tanghoon soup ($7.90). Generous amount of clams in each bowl. Clams were very fresh, soup was clean tasting and you can taste the alcohol too! Overall a good meal and will probably consider eating it again if I am in the area.
Hidden mala tang shop within the dying cineleisure mall. Charges by weight ($2.80/100g) and there's several soup base to choose from. Ingredients are fresh and mala soup was not overly seasoned or oily. Be sure to get the chili sauce!! Definitely gave the soup alot more depth and flavour. Will definitely return again!!
Tried the curry udon for the first time and wasn't blown away. Curry was kinda diluted/ not thick enough (tho too thick might be jelat). Not fantastic but udon texture was still on point and pork katsu was delishhh. Would just stick to my usual kitsune udon!
Used burpple beyond and got 2 classic for $5.50. Really worth and definitely a good way to end a meal. Yoghurt was nice and not overall sweet. Not too stingy with toppings too. Would definitely return for my sweet tooth cravings.
Mapo don ($10.80++) - you can choose from 3 levels of spiciness. Went with level 1 and was just for you to enjoy the taste of the dish. Mapo tofu was pretty ok, but can can kinda salty (and v thirsty) afterwards. Overall pretty overpriced for tofu and probably won't return.
Ordered the ramen with prawn dumplings ($14.50++) and the ebiko prawn paste ($15.50++). Broth was rich with prawn flavour and both dumplings and ebiko balls were delicious. However, it can get jelat after awhile. Highly recommend to complete your meal (additional $3.40) for a side and drink. Apple black tea was tasty but I think might be better to opt for the vinegar drink to cut the richness of the broth. Overall damage was about 40++ for 2 pax. Pretty reasonable and would return again (tho not so soon).
Got the roasted and salted caramel shakes with burpple beyond. Paid $6.90 for two. Taste wise, pretty mediocre. There wasn't a queue but I waited for a very long time (approx 20+ mins) as orders was streaming from the delivery side. When I got my drink it was all melted. Would probably just stick to the popular alternative.
